Iranian Weapons Found In Iraq

Fox News reports that the Iraqi terrorists are obtaining weapons from Iran:

WASHINGTON — Some weapons entering Iraq are coming from Iran, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld (search) said Tuesday, though he indicated it was unclear whether they were coming from elements of the Iranian government or from other parties.

"Weapons clearly, unambiguously from Iran have been found in Iraq," he told a Pentagon briefing. "It's a big border. It's notably unhelpful for the Iranians to allow weapons of those types to cross the border." He did not provide further specifics.

Not that I am surprised, but one would have hoped that the U.S. would have previously attempted to seal the Iranian and Syrian borders...

My question is this: if Iran's government is found to have been complicit in the supplying of our enemies, then what's next? Will Bush strike Iran? One would hope that the Bush administration would remember the Bush Doctrine. Our failure to abide by the Bush Doctrine with respect to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Saudi Arabia, however, has left some rather gaping holes in that policy.
